Like billiard balls after a break, litigation often moves in different directions. Having a firm with the experience and strategic vision to anticipate and adapt to the unexpected often leads to better outcomes. With well over half a century of trial and appellate experience, OLSS’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group has made it its business to understand our clients’ businesses and needs. We partner with our clients to ascertain goals, manage risks, and develop business solutions designed to cost-effectively navigate uncertainty in a hostile environment. Whenever possible, our objective is to resolve disputes before they go to litigation, while simultaneously strengthening our clients’ hand in the event that litigation becomes unavoidable. We understand that litigation is not an end in and of itself, but a means to achieving our clients’ particular goals and professional objectives.
Our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group is comprised of experienced trial and appellate advocates with versatile practices in both state and federal courts, as well as in mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Many of us have worked together throughout our careers. Our department is a uniquely cohesive team of moderate size that has reaped the full benefit of its senior leaders’ wealth of trial and appellate experience. Our clients never interact with our B team – because we do not have one.
The breadth of our experience is matched by the depth of our expertise in the full range of complex business, commercial, and personal disputes encountered by our clients. Our attorneys regularly appear in state and federal trial and appellate courts in New Jersey, New York, and beyond.
We offer our clients well-developed trial and appellate skills based on regular court and alternative dispute resolution appearances in a wide range of matters, as well as substantive expertise in complex areas of law. This combination of assets enables us to staff matters efficiently and allows us to maintain a somewhat lower cost structure than many other top firms in the state. In addition, our lawyers concentrate in particular practice areas, which is complemented by the firm’s state-of-the-art technological capabilities. The attorneys routinely lecture and teach in those areas of the law, allowing us to be at the forefront of legal developments in the areas in which we litigate.
Whether yours is an established professional or corporate enterprise, or you are a fledgling entrepreneur or start-up venture, whenever a business or personal dispute warrants the experienced advice and steady hand of counsel, we deliver the personal attention and professionalism you would expect from law firms many times our size.
